Specimen Type: Body Fluid
Preferred Volume: 5 mL
Emergency Minimum Volume: 2 mL
Specimen Processing: Specimen container should be tightly capped with minimal free air space. Avoid cell contamination if possible. Transport as soon as possible to lab. 
Required Patient Info: Indicate fluid source
Unacceptable Conditions: Syringe with needle attached. Air bubbles in specimen.
Alternate Specimens: May be run on a FULL red or green top, with minimal exposure to air.
