Specimen Type: Body Fluid (Pericardial, Peritoneal, Pleural, Synovial, CSF, JP Drainage, Amniotic Fluid
Preferred Volume: 1 mL
Emergency Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL
Collection Procedure: Withdraw fluid and immediately place into EDTA tube. Invert tube several times.
Specimen Processing: Transport ASAP. Store and transport refrigerated.

Unacceptable Condition: Samples received without anticoagulant, clotted specimens, or specimens that have been at room temperature for 12 hours or more.
