Patient Prep: Physician collected
Collection Procedure: If deep nares, order this for anaerobic workup.
Specimen Processing: Store and transport at room temperature. Send sinus trap refrigerated.
Required Patient Info: Specimen source.

Stability: Specimen received on aerobic swab: 48 hours Room Temp, Specimen received on anaerobic swab: 48 hours room temp unless anaerobic conditions have been disturbed.  Sinus trap specimen: 24 hours refrigerated.
