Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type:  Pinworm collection paddle (available from St. Charles Laboratory)

Collection Procedure: Pat the perianal area with the sticky side of the paddle.  Place the paddle back into the plastic tube and recap.  The best specimen is obtained at night and prior to a bowel movement.

Specimen Processing: Store and transport at room temperature.

Alternate Specimens: Clear tape (unfrosted)
