Container Type: Lithium Heparin (Green Top) or Serum Separator (Gold Top)
Specimen Type: Plasma or Serum
Preferred Volume: 1 mL
Emergency Minimum Volume: 0.3 mL
Collection Procedure: Draw trough specimen within 30 minutes prior to infusion. Note times of dose and draw. Clearly label specimens.
Specimen Processing: Separate serum or plasma from cells as soon as possible by centrifugation. Remove the serum or plasma from the cells, clot or gel as soon as possible and aliquot into a separate tube. Store and transport refrigerated.
Required Patient Info: Time of dose and draw.
