Patient Prep: Physician or nurse-collected
Collection Procedure: Nasopharyngeal (NP flocked swab) or Nasal swab put in UTM (Universal Transport Media)
Specimen Processing: Store and transport refrigerated within 24 hours.
Stability: Refrigerated 3 days
Unacceptable Condition: sputum, swabs with wooden shfts, calcium alginate swabs, throat swabs and swabs not received in Viral Transport Medium.
