Specimen Requirements

Container Type: Lithium Heparin (Green Top) or Plain Serum Tube (Red Top)

Specimen Type: Plasma or Serum
Preferred Volume: 1 mL
Emergency Minimum Volume: 0.3 mL
Collection Procedure: Draw trough specimen within 30 minutes prior to infusion.  Do not draw in a tube with a gel separator.
Specimen Processing: Separate serum from cells as soon as possible by centrifugation. Store and transport refrigerated.
Required Patient Info: Trough specimen, Note times of dose and draw.
