Important Note

This test is useful for evaluating patients at risk for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or features of inflammatory arthritis.

This test includes rheumatoid factor IgG, IgA, and IgM.

 

Specimen Requirements

Container Type: Serum seperator (Gold top) or Plain Serum tube (Red top)

Specimen Type: Serum

Preferred Volume: 2 mL

Emergency Volume: 0.5 mL

Specimen Processing: Seperate serum from cells as soon as possible by centrifugation.  Store and transport refrigerated.

REJECT:

Gross hemolysis or Gross Limpemia
